Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES

Cayuga Onondaga BOCES provides comprehensive autism support services to students and staff across our component districts. Our Autism Consultants work closely with district staff to provide evidence-based, individualized academic and behavioral strategies that help students with autism access and succeed in inclusive educational environments.

Services include on-site coaching and feedback for teachers and support staff, helping them implement effective practices in the classroom. Consultants also provide:

• Professional development and in-service training for faculty and staff

• Disability awareness and education for general education students

• Access to autism-focused resources, including books, videos, and instructional materials

• Parent and guardian support to promote consistency between home and school

• Written recommendations, reports, and samples of adapted curriculum or instructional materials

Through these services, districts gain the tools and guidance needed to support students with autism in developing communication, social, and academic skills, while ensuring that educational programs are inclusive, supportive, and tailored to each student’s strengths and needs.
