Assistive Technology

This service provides assistive technology (AT) evaluations, consultation, planning, training, and resources to support students in meeting their IEP goals. We offer hardware, software, and adaptive tools, along with technical support and training for school staff and families.

Collaboration with specialists in speech-language pathology, vision, and occupational and physical therapy helps ensure appropriate assistive technology solutions.

 

 

 

 

Services Provided

    • Assess individual student needs
    • Develop recommendations for AT tools (low/no tech, mid-level tech, high tech)
    • Support district AT planning
    • Provided for school staff, families, and students
    • Support with AT tools, devices, and software
    • Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC): Go-Talks, PECS, SymbolStix, Design Overlays, Medicaid-funded device trials
    • Alternate Access: Switches, alternate keyboards, pointing devices, touch screens, speech recognition software
    • Software Supports:
      • Access tools (switch, hot keys, touch)
      • Early concepts (colors, shapes, letters, numbers)
      • Literacy (auditory & visual feedback for reading/writing)
      • Math support
    • iPads for Trial: Available for AAC, Alternate Access, and Software Access
