CTE Students Shine During Annual Consultant Committee Dinner

Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES recently hosted its annual Consultant Committee Dinner, an event dedicated to honoring the contributions of the organization’s consultant committees and celebrating the exceptional talents of Career & Technical Education students.

The dinner is an important event for Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, as it provides the organization with an opportunity to gather with various committees and show appreciation for the vital role they play in the success of BOCES programs.

“We are extremely thankful for everyone who serves on one of our consultant committees because they help inform our programs, keep them current with the industry trends, and provide real world learning opportunities for our students. We would like to thank all the members for their continued support,” said CTE Principal Scott Bradley.

This year’s dinner was a shining example of student collaboration and professionalism. Students in the Culinary Arts program prepared and presented a delicious meal that showcased their skills, dedication, and attention to detail. These students worked diligently all week to plan, cook, and perfect each dish, providing a memorable dining experience for all attendees.

Plant, Animal & Life Sciences (PALS) students also demonstrated their creative talents by designing beautiful centerpieces and transforming the dining space into a welcoming environment.

“Our Culinary Arts students always do an incredible job preparing and presenting the food for the dinner. They work extremely hard all week to prepare for the event under the direction of Chef Fitzgerald,” said Bradley. “Our PALS students do an equally impressive job to make the room look and tables look spectacular. When you walk in and see the setup, it's easy to forget that you're in a school!”

According to Auburn High School and Culinary Arts student, Jrakkar White, events like the Consultant Committee Dinner provide students with the opportunity to put their skills to the test.

"I really enjoy the pressure that comes with needing to prepare for this kind of dinner. It's been a lot of fun,” White said.
