We are excited to welcome Christopher Miller to the Compass Program!
Miller has joined Compass as a Teacher Assistant. He brings over 20 years of teaching experience and passion for education to his new role.
After retiring from a career teaching elementary school, most of which he spent at Casey Park Elementary in Auburn, NY, he’s now embarking on a new chapter, thriving in his work with older students.
In the Compass Program, Miller plays an essential role by supporting Social Studies, English, Biology and Health classes. He also lends a hand in serving breakfast and lunch to students, contributing to the positive environment the program fosters. Miller particularly values the structure, smaller class sizes, and positive incentives within the program, which he believes are key to student success.
Outside of school, Christopher enjoys life with his wife and two school-aged stepchildren. He also has an adult son and two adult stepchildren from a previous marriage. In his free time, Miller is passionate about disc golf and attending his kids' soccer games and school events.
Having transitioned from working with elementary students, Miller says that he appreciates the strong rapport he’s building with the older students at Compass. His dedication to education and his ability to connect with students make him an asset to the program. Welcome aboard, Christopher!
