The Mid-State Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center is a member of the Mid-State Regional Team under the guidance of NYSED Office of Special Education (OSE), Educational Partnership, along with the Mid-State Regional Partnership Center (RPC).
The Educational Partnership, a state-wide structure in which a community of practitioners work collaboratively to support students, families, and educational organizations to build capacity to improve educational and post-educational outcomes for students with disabilities. The Mid-State FACE Center provides regional learning opportunities, targeted skills groups, and intensive partnerships to teachers, administrators, students and families in 51 districts and approved preschool programs in Central New York.
As a part of the CDI, the Mid-State FACE Center’s mission is to support and empower educational organizations (EOs), families, and communities to improve equity, access, opportunities, and outcomes for students with disabilities (birth-age 22) by:
- Facilitating systems change through high-quality, evidenced based services
- Encouraging and promoting inclusion of families and communities as valued partners
- Building capacity of EOs for meaningful engagement and collaboration with families and community agencies
- Educating and empowering families to be meaningfully involved in their child’s education
- Building collaborative community partnerships
- Supporting early childhood education providers
