Technical Services can provide guidance on decision
making regarding new equipment choices, such as: LCD projectors,
printers, monitors, euipment from the state bid list, etc.
In an effort to standardize peripheral equipment,
such as printers, we can suggest brands and models of equipment,
so that in the future it is more cost effective to repair the most
popular items.
It becomes less expensive and speeds up repair time,
if there is a smaller number of commonly used parts needed to service
equipment. For example: If a school were to use the same type or
model of LCD projector throughout the building/district, one spare
replacement lamp would suffice for quick replacement, as opposed
to having or ordering, many spare lamps for each make or model.
State Bid List
Each year the OCM BOCES has provided a list of Audio-Visual equipment
that is available for substantial savings. In addition, the shipping
charge is included in the price. While all items necessary may not
be on the list, it does provide a great deal of commonly used products.
This is an excellent way for districts to minimize
large discrepancies in make/model choices between other districts.
A new bid list is made available each year, and is price effective
from April until sometime in the fall. Some vendors will extend
the price quotes even after the bid expires. For more information
