Tips
for Carousel Slide Projectors (35mm)
To
prevent slides from jamming, ensure that the carousel tray is in
the Zero (locked) position before loading slides. If it is not locked
you will be able to turn the base until it clicks into the Zero
position.
Always replace the locking plastic cover on the carousel
when it is loaded with slides. If the tray is accidentally dropped,
you will avoid spilling your slides.
Glass mounted slides will remain in focus during projection,
but slides in glassless plastic and cardboard mounts can 'pop' because
of the heat of the projector and defocus.
Don't leave glass mounted slides out in cold conditions.
Condensation may form inside the glass and cause patterning
Don't touch the image area of transparancies. Finger marks will
show up on the projected image.
To remove the carousel tray quickly: with the projector
switched on, press and hold down the forward/select button, manually
turn the tray to the Zero position and lift straight up.
Tips for Overhead
Projectors (OHP's)
Ensure
a sharp image by checking the focus and fringe controls.
The fringe control minimizes the blue/yellow fringing
around the edge of the projected image.
Try not to look at the OHP when pointing to items
on it. This will reduce the possibility of eye strain damage due
to the brightness of the light.
When replacing the lamp do not touch the bulb, oil
from your hands will cause the lamp to eventually burn out.
