After a year of hard work, dedication and improvement, students in the Compass Program at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES were recently celebrated during an awards ceremony.
The ceremony, which featured a variety of awards for middle school and high school students, was kicked off by Principal Drew Yakawiak, who thanked the students for their efforts throughout the year and congratulated them on their individual achievements.
Completion certificates went out to each student who successfully completed the year, as well as CTE certifications for students who participated in both Compass and a CTE program. Honor roll awards were also given out to students who achieved high grade point averages.
Awards were then presented for individual subjects, including math, STEM, science, social studies, English and service.
“I am very proud of this program and what we’ve been able to accomplish this year,” said Yakawiak.
