6:1:1 Program Donates to Santa Paws

Looking to provide help during the holiday season, students in the 6:1:1 program at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES recently participated in the Santa Paws program, which provides gifts for animals in shelters.

After learning about Santa Paws, students talked about what items the animals in shelters might enjoy during the holidays. They then made a list of different items, such as food, treats and toys.

Then last week during a community outing, the class went to the Dollar Tree with their lists and picked out different items for the animals.

"From there we went over to the SPCA and dropped off our donations for the animals," said teacher Jill Gilmore. "The kids really enjoyed doing this for the animals and we were all so proud of them and wanted to share it with all of you! Happy Holidays!"
