Occupational Therapist visits with Early Childhood Education students

trapani visits with students
On Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES welcomed Occupational Therapist Bob Trapani to the campus.

Speaking with students from the Early Childhood Education program, Trapani provided insight into the different types of careers in therapy, discussing the responsibilities inherent to the speech, physical, and occupational fields. He also educated students on the special education services available for children with developmental delays.

The discussion was also accompanied by video clips of home-based therapy sessions, illustrating some of the techniques used with children from birth to age five. Throughout the discussion, students received glimpses of what a career in the therapy field might look like.
