Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES student saves friend's life

Alex M., joined by his classmates at CO BOCES, displays a
First Aid Choking Adult Poster with Heimlich Instructions.
Alex M., a student at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, as well as the Cato-Meridian School District, recently provided life-saving support to his friend. When Alex saw his best friend choking on an apple seed, he bravely stepped in to help.
Alex says, "My friend started choking and I acted fast. I kept pulling his chest in from behind until the apple seed came out of his mouth." Thankfully, Alex's friend is OK and doing well. Alex was taught the Heimlich Maneuver by his mother's boyfriend, and also knew what to do thanks to posters hanging in his school's cafeteria.
Kudos, Alex! Everyone at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is very proud of you!
