Sweet aromas are wafting out of the Culinary Arts kitchen at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES (CO BOCES) today. Seniors are busy preparing for tonight’s 2017 Consultant Committee dinner. More than 100 attendees will be treated to a seasonal meal including:
- Smoked Roast Pork
- Rotisserie Chicken with a BBQ Dry Rub
- Autumn Rattatouille
- Smoked Gouda Macaroni and Cheese
- Pumpkin Roasted Garlic Rolls
- Fried Lake Victorian Perch
- Harvest Arugula Salad with Tangarine Rosemary Vinaigrette
- House-Made Desserts
What is the Consultant Committee dinner?
The Consultant Committee dinner is an annual event, hosted by CO BOCES, to recognize and thank committee members for their efforts to support the school’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs. A consultant committee is designed to link CTE programs to the business community. Every CTE program at CO BOCES, including the New Visions: Medical Professions program, has an active consultant committee that meets at least twice a year.
“The purpose of consultant committees is to promote constructive and necessary change within our programs, and to ensure that instruction is consistent with the skills practiced by productive employees of local businesses and industries,” said CTE Director Mr. Steve Woodard.
In addition to sharing a delicious meal this evening, CTE teachers will meet with their committee members to discuss important program information.
“On behalf of our board members, administrators, teachers, and students, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all of our consultant committee members for their continued support and dedication to the success of our CTE programs,” said Mr. Woodard.
