Nearly 100 students from Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES’ nine component districts are participating in the 2017 Summer Robotics STEM Camp, Aug. 14-18. The second annual event is hosted by CO BOCES, in partnership with The Robot Zone. Participants range from fifth to eighth grade. Each day campers are divided into groups and assigned to a specific hands-on session ranging from 3D design and printing to robot design, programming, and drones.
“Our goal is to continue to grow the camp,” said Tony Abbatiello, Director of Instructional Support Services. “We’d like to expand it to two weeks and include students from K-12.”
Parents and community members are invited to attend the camp’s expo on Friday, Aug. 18 from 1-3 p.m. During the expo, attendees will see what the students have worked on throughout the week.
