Students from Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES earned top honors at the 2017 Career and Leadership Development Event during the 2017 NYS FFA Convention. The annual event took place at SUNY Morrisville, May 11-13. FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership.
“The students really did an amazing job and worked so hard,” said CTE Director Steve Woodard. “Hats off to the participants and PALS staff members Julia Rotman-Smith & Sharon Gulnac for their efforts!”

Two CO BOCES Floral Design teams placed in the top four.
- Team A secured second place and will move on to compete at the Big E in Massachusetts in September. Team A team members include Amber Renslow, Auburn; Jolean Emmons Chapman, Auburn; Jessica Snodgrass, Cato; and Mackenzie Chase, Port Byron.
- Team B earned fourth place in Floral Design. Team B team members include Emily Cummings, Auburn; Scoutt Cotto, Cato; Mariah Hanley, Moravia; Samantha Loomis, Cato.
