“On behalf of the Compass Program, I would like to thank everyone who had an opportunity to take part in the Second Annual Photo Gallery Walk,” said Compass Program Principal Mr. Drew Yakawiak.

About the Photo Gallery Walk
On Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, nearly 20 middle schools students from Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES’ Compass Program visited the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park in Syracuse to participate in the zoo’s annual photo contest.

Each student was provided with a digital camera and encouraged to take at least 100 photos of animals. Following their time at the zoo, students were asked to choose their best three photos. Those photos were displayed at CO BOCES on Feb. 1 for the Second Annual Photo Gallery Walk.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members were encouraged to view the photo gallery and vote for their favorite three images.

“This event was a great opportunity for our students to express themselves creatively through the use of photography,” said Mr. Yakawiak.

Thanks you to everyone who supported the Second Annual Photo Gallery Walk and the Compass Program.
