Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES welcomes new faculty members

Ms. Casey Meyer joined the CO BOCES team on Jan. 17 as the Early Childhood Education Coordinator. In this role, Ms. Meyer is responsible for teaching high school juniors and seniors in the Early Childhood Education Program.

Prior to joining the CO BOCES team, Ms. Meyer served as the deputy commissioner of Cayuga County’s Department of Social Services. With more than 20 years of experience in social and human services, she is excited use her community connections to benefit her students.

“Cayuga County is rich in resources and my goal is to expose our high school students to new hands-on learning opportunities, in addition to our day care,” said Ms. Meyer. “My goal is help students connect what they learn in the classroom to the real world -- to see it in action.”

Early Childhood Education Coordinator

Ms. Amanda Triplett joined the CO BOCES team in October 2016. As one of the school’s English teachers, she is responsible for teaching 250 students throughout seven CTE programs. With more than 10 years of experience, Ms. Triplett is an accomplished writer with a passion for the craft. She earned a master’s degree in English Literature from Agnus Scott College, and is a regular presenter at the National Council for Teachers of English. Most recently, Ms. Triplett served as an adjunct English professor at Tompkins County Community College and worked in the college’s writing center.

She is excited to be a part of the CO BOCES community and has already developed writing initiatives to inspire students and staff.

“I love the teachers that run the CTE programs that I’m connected to,” said Ms. Triplett. “I think their level of knowledge and passion for their trade is superior to the many educators I’ve worked with in the past.”
