ABOUT

The Talented and Gifted Advisory Committee (TAG) is comprised of individuals from Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES component school districts. The committee meets once a month. TAG School Coordinators assist in planning the three programs sponsored by the committee: Mini Courses, Three Lakes Sampler and Odyssey of the Mind. The TAG School Coordinator serves as a liaison between the TAG Committee and their district administration. TAG School Coordinators promote the TAG programs within their school district and provides information to parents and students for the listed programs. The TAG Coordinator organizes student participation in selected program and provides important information and programs dates for the school calendar and local media sources.

The Three Lakes Sampler is sponsored by the Talented and Gifted Committee at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES. Selected art and written work is displayed at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center in Auburn, NY. The art center hosts an opening reception in January. The show is open to the public until the middle of March. After the show ends at the art center, the students’ work is arranged in a booklet entitled “The Three Lakes Sampler”. Selected art pieces are showcased at the art center and featured on the covers of the publication. Any student having work selected for this program receives a copy of the Three Lakes Sampler. The title of the show and publication is derived from the area’s three Finger Lakes that encompass the BOCES component school district; Cayuga, Skaneateles and Owasco lakes. Participation in the Three Lakes Sampler is open to all students within the BOCES component school districts. The students’ work is selected by the Art and English teachers at all district building levels.
