Introduction
The Business Careers program is an individualized program designed to provide students with the training necessary to work within today’s computerized offices. The program offers students the opportunity to begin training for a new career in the business field or upgrade and improve current skills. Students training full-time in Business Careers will get experience in a workforce environment, well developed job skills and worker characteristics such as flexibility, organizational skills, and attention to detail and customer service skills.

Training times average six to eight months, depending on such factors as keyboarding skills and chosen career path.
The Business Careers program guides career decision-making by encouraging participation in job shadows and internship experiences. A job shadow is an opportunity to discuss and observe workplace responsibilities in a specific employment setting. It’s a time to ask questions and observe individuals while they work. An internship occurs at the end of the program when a student works in a non-paid position. The student performs the duties and tasks on an actual job for approximately one week.
