Curriculum

Students will participate in fieldwork to help deepend their knowledge in a particular area of interest. The field experience will be at various local businesses and professional environments where students will ovserve and partake in business operations while under the guidance of trained professionals.

Students are introduced to the skills and responsibilities required in the day-to-day functions of the business and media environments. During the course of the year, students will:

* Learn the foundations and fundamentals of American and international business.
* Develop media/journalism/technical writing skills; write and prepare information for the mass media.
* Learn the social and business implications of budgeting and investing that apply to the economics of business, and government entities.
* Understand and learn the necessary leadership and organization behaviors that effective leaders possess.
* Develop a network for communication and resource purposes.
* Learn and use methods of making sound business decisions.
* Interact with various business owners, administrative managers, and guest lecturers.
* Observe and record observations of business operations and transactions.
